NABARD Krishi Mela :
JWCWO organizes NABARD Krishi Mela every year with the financial support of NABARD for the development of farmers. In this financial year, we held a three-day agricultural fair in the first week of March,20 at Ekkabarpur Sabuj Samabay Samity hall. The Resource persons of various government and non-government departments came and gave valuable speeches. There is direct exchange of views with the farmers. Twenty stalls participated in the NABARD Krishi Mela this year. Especially the village farmers gave their produced vegetables for exhibition. The purpose of NABARD Krishi Mela is to encourage farmers in the area. The use of agricultural technology by farmers and application of pesticide and organic fertilizers were discussed. 500 farmers participated in this discussion meeting.
Rooftop Garden Cultivation Programme :
Rooftop farming can benefit society by improving air quality, reducing carbon in the atmosphere, thereby creating a healthy environment. Moreover, the people will get pesticide free vegetables with their own effort. Besides, working in the garden gives them immense pleasure and satisfaction.
Roof garden is a successful advancement of modern agricultural development. Agricultural land has decreased with the advancement of human lifestyle. To fill the gap, people have saved the rooftop garden. It is possible to meet the demand of vegetables and fruits through roof top gardening, so in this year we organized a special training camp for 10 families on making roof gardens. Training is given on how to grow vegetable gardens in tube, trays, caret and others wooden box/ plastic box and plastic packets for without soil.
